Annual Ice & Snow Festival brings winter wonderland

This weekend, the city of Keene is celebrating the winter season with its 10th annual Ice and Snow Festival.

The Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce invites people of all ages to throw snowballs, build snowmen and even take a horse-drawn carriage ride this Saturday in downtown Keene.

Chamber of Commerce President Tom Dowling says it took three months of planning and over 6-thousand dollars in fundraising from local businesses to put on the event.

Dowling says around 4-thousand people attended the event last year, and hopes this year’s will be equally successful.

New to the festival this year is a Railroad ride, suitably stationed on Railroad Street.

Dowling says community events like the ice and snow festival make Keene a better place to live.

The Festival will take place in downtown Keene this Saturday, May 5th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
